Campus life is one of the most exciting and enjoyable aspects of being a university student, and at IIT Madras, we take great pride in our campus. IIT Madras is a residential institute located on a 2.5 km² (617-acre) campus that was once part of the adjoining Guindy National Park. Much of the campus is a protected forest, carved out of the Guindy National Park, and is home to many animals not commonly seen in a bustling city like Chennai.
