IIT Madras has made significant strides in the field of AI/ML through its various research initiatives and collaborations. One of the key centers is the Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI), which has partnered with Ericsson to research responsible AI. This partnership aims to develop AI systems with high trust, fairness, and privacy compliance, especially as 5G and 6G networks become prevalent.
Another important initiative is the Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and AI (RBCDSAI), which focuses on a range of AI and data science projects, including large language models for healthcare, interpretability of attention-based models, and multi-agent reinforcement learning for network management.
Additionally, the AI and Data Sciences cluster at IIT Madras is engaged in various interdisciplinary projects.
