# Few doubts regarding the BS programme in Medical Science and engineering

Hello there,

1. The total number of credits for BS in Medical Science and Engineering is 438. You can read the full curriculum [here](https://mst.iitm.ac.in/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/BS_MedicalScience_16-March-23_BAC-_from-Dept.pdf).
2. Since this is not a B.Tech. program, the program doesn’t have an elective-only semester, but the students can take electives along with their core courses.
3. Yes, the students can take electives and pursue minors in other departments, provided they meet the requirements. You can read more about minors at IITM [here](https://community.askiitm.com/t/does-iitm-offer-minor-programs-and-how-useful-are-they/55).
4. The department is open to supporting students who want to pursue an IDDD.
