NRI student those are Permanent resident of foreign country need to do complsury armed force training after completion of 12th exam. Is it possible to get differel for 2 years for appering exam after completion of 12th exam. Is fo share the details /procedures for applying.

Yes, NRI students who are permanent residents or citizens of a country with compulsory military service can write exams like JEE or NEET even after completing their service period. There is no restriction from the Indian side (IITs, NTA, or medical entrance authorities) that disqualifies a candidate based on when they completed their 12th board exam—as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

For JEE Advanced, you can attempt the exam in the year of passing your Class 12 exam and the year immediately after that. So, if you complete 12th in 2025, your JEE Advanced attempts will be in 2025 and 2026 only. If you complete your service and return after this window, then you won’t be eligible for JEE Advanced.

However, JEE Mains allows you to appear up to 3 consecutive years after passing Class 12, giving a bit more flexibility.

So, if you’re completing your armed forces service after the JEE Advanced eligibility window, you won’t be able to apply unless you take your Class 12 exam again. Some students opt for this by enrolling again in an open board like NIOS to reset their eligibility window.
