As I know about my jee advance 2024 which is my first time appearing for JEE advance, mains and class 12 HSC exam. I would like to know that let’s say I want admission in IIT Madras but according to rank I get, I don’t get a seat in IIT-M instead I get a seat in some other IIT. And accept it, will I able to participate in JoSSA counseling next year(2025) for IITs(specifically IIT-M), after giving JEE advanced 2025, even though I spent 1 year at some other IIT?
I don’t mind starting again from 1st year if it means I can get admission in IIT Madras.
Hello there,
As per the official JEE Advanced eligibility criteria:
A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT through JoSAA 2023 irrespective of whether or not the candidate continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting “online” / at a “reporting centre” in the past. Candidates whose admission to IITs was cancelled (for whatever reason) after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2024.
Hope that helps!
Is this criteria for every year?
I probably know the answer but still it’s something I can’t let go.
Yes, this is the criteria every year.
