What is the climate of Chennai like?

One of the very first thoughts that comes to mind while mentioning Chennai is the heat. And we don’t disagree, as the city can get very hot, especially during summer. But fear not, because you will be residing in one of the most pleasant parts of the city. The entire campus borders the Guindy National Park, and the abundant greenery, with numerous trees, helps maintain the temperature a few degrees lower than that of the city.

The city also receives a substantial amount of rainfall during the monsoon season, with the climate being a right balance of wind and rain. The winters are cool and the chillness can be felt from the hostel room windows.

The students are advised to pack a wide variety of clothing to adapt to the changing seasons - from sleeveless to full hands to raincoats, as the classes go on, regardless of the weather.

All it takes is coconut water!
