I have a bachelor degree in engineering from Bangalore university, what is the eligibility criteria for joining ms in entrepreneurship

If you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Bangalore University, you are eligible to apply for the MS in Entrepreneurship program at IIT Madras, provided you meet the following requirements:


Core Eligibility

  • Degree Requirement:
    A B.E./B.Tech in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university (such as Bangalore University) is valid for application.

  • National-Level Exam:
    Applicants must qualify in GATE or another approved national exam (GMAT, GRE, CAT, etc.), depending on the admission category.

    • For the HTRA (Half-Time Research Assistantship), qualifying in one of these exams is mandatory, unless the applicant is from a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) with CGPA ≥ 8.0 (note: this exception does not apply to Bangalore University).
  • Admission Categories:
    While most candidates apply as regular full-time students, IITM also offers categories such as External, Part-Time, and Project-based admission, each with additional work/experience requirements.


Additional Requirements

  • Proposal Submission:
    Applicants must submit a business or research idea proposal as part of their application.

  • Selection Process:
    Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews and/or presentations to assess both academic readiness and entrepreneurial potential.
