How is the classes being conducted for BS Medical Science & Engineering Students… Is there separate department allocated like other department??

Classes for the BS in Medical Science & Engineering at IIT Madras are conducted fully offline on the main campus. And, yes, there is a dedicated Department of Medical Sciences and Technology (DMST) that hosts the program. Since the curriculum is a mixed bag, rather than taking isolated classes, you will be taught interdisciplinary concepts like physiology, biomaterials, medical instrumentation, and artificial intelligence in medicine that will f=include faculty from other departments too.
Plus, the classes are highly practical. The program includes mandatory hospital internships to bridge the gap between engineering theory and medical practice. This is what distinguishes it from related disciplines like Biological/Bioprocess/Instrumentation & Biomedical Engineering.
