Hi! I have been accepted to an M.Tech. program at IITM, and I wanted to inquire how to get a Myndwell certificate as required by the Office of Hostel Management; the OHM is asking me to contact the Wellness Office.

So, whom do I need to contact?
Additionally, OHM is also asking admission letter from academic section, is that thing to do done on the day of arrival of do I already have that form?
Furthermore, I have paid hostel fees and I will be bringing its receipt, my question is do I need to pay mess fee in advance as well or will that be processed on the day of arrival as well?
Asking this as, OHM on mail asks to bring both hostel and mess fees receipt before hand, however on the CCW website, in the instructions for hostel onboarding, it mentions that mess registration will be done only after room allotment, and after registration, I can pay the mess fees. In short, OHM is giving two different instructions.
Lastly, why all the IITs hostel management sucks this bad tbh, giving mixed instructions. I can also go on about whether fee to paid on SBI collect or fees.iitm.ac.in, which required me an account but that doesn’t exist yet, so I paid on SBI collect.
For the Myndwell certificate, you’re right to contact the Wellness Centre. The correct website is https://www.wellnessiitm.com/wellness-centre-1. You can email them at wellnessoffice@iitm.ac.in, mentioning your registration number and that the Office of Hostel Management has requested a Myndwell certificate. They will usually send you a link to complete a short online assessment through Myndwell.
Regarding the admission letter, if you don’t already have a signed letter from the academic section (different from the online offer or COAP acceptance), you will likely collect it in person on the day of arrival. Some students carry the offer letter downloaded from the admission portal, which can serve temporarily, but you’ll still need the official one for formalities.
About the hostel and mess fees, you’ve done the right thing by paying the hostel fee and keeping the receipt. The mess fee, however, is a bit tricky due to conflicting instructions. While the OHM email says to bring both hostel and mess fee receipts, the CCW onboarding instructions clearly state that mess registration happens only after room allotment, and payment is made afterward. So, bring your hostel fee receipt now, and pay the mess fee once your room is allotted and you’re registered for a mess. You are also correct that the fees.iitm.ac.in portal is inactive until your LDAP account is created, so paying through SBI Collect was the right call.
Lastly, you’re not alone in feeling that the onboarding process is a bit confusing. Many new students face mixed instructions between OHM, CCW, and the academic section. It’s completely understandable to be frustrated, and your feedback is valid. Once you arrive on campus, things usually get sorted more easily with in-person guidance from the hostel office.
