Skating game is eligible for sports quota to get b tech in IITM?

Examples of sports commonly recognized by IIT Madras for SEA include:

  • Athletics

  • Badminton

  • Basketball

  • Chess

  • Cricket

  • Football

  • Hockey

  • Lawn Tennis

  • Squash

  • Table Tennis

  • Volleyball

  • Weightlifting

Since skating is not on the list, one is unlikely to be able to use it to get into IITM via SEA quota. However, if the candidate has a valid medal in skating at a national or international level within the last four years and also qualifies JEE (Advanced), eligibility for BTech admission via sports quota at IIT Madras is possible.
