My daughter is a non SAARC and non Gulf OCI holder. She has done her full schooling in India. Now we are having Trouble deciding oci f or oci I. She will be eligible for Girls supernumerary of she goes with OCI (I)however if she chooses OCI (f). She will get the foreign students supernumerary.
If we choose oci f can she write JEE Mains
If she cannot write JEe mains how can she apply for Dasa
Yes, OCI (F) candidates are eligible to write JEE Mains. The official eligibility criteria clearly state that Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs)—regardless of whether they are classified as OCI (I) or OCI (F)—can apply for JEE Main, provided they have completed the required qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent) in the relevant years.
However, your admission category (Indian or foreign seat/OCI seat) will depend on how you register for the exam and your subsequent choices. Supernumerary quotas and eligibility for reservation (such as girls’ supernumerary seats) vary between OCI (I) and OCI (F) status at the time of admission.
For the DASA (Direct Admission for Students Abroad) scheme—which is used for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs—candidates who are OCIs (both F and I type) are eligible under specific categories based on nationality (non-SAARC/non-Gulf in your case) as long as they meet the DASA criteria.
ALL DASA UG applicants (except for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries) must have a valid JEE Main rank, regardless of being OCI (F) or (I).
Therefore, even if applying under the DASA category, your daughter must write JEE Main to be considered for DASA undergraduate admission
