The typical way of pursuing engineering is to spend four years on a B.Tech, and then spend two more years on an M.Tech if the student wishes to. But IITM offers a dual degree program in which students can complete both in 5 years, saving one year of their time and effort. Here are some important details to keep in mind:
- Some of the specialisations are branch-specific.
- You can also avail of an Interdisciplinary Dual Degree (IDDD) program from options like Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, Complex Systems and Dynamics, Computational Engineering, Cyber-Physical Systems, Data Science, Electric Vehicles, Energy Systems, Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, Atmospheric and Climate Sciences, Quantum Science and Technology, Quantitative Finance, Public Policy, TechMBA and Quantum Science and Technology.
- To be eligible for the IDDD program, you need to have a CGPA of 8 or above, except for Tech MBA which requires a CGPA of 7.5 or above.
There are quite a few IDDD programs in the pipeline too.
